Rest well, Itty Bitty Stella Kitty
Stella passed this past Wednesday, at 4:30. She was 21. She had melted away to almost nothing, poor little thing.
I’ll write more when it’s not so fresh.

It’s been a little while since I posted about Stella and Kiesha. Stella has been on meds to control high phosphourous levels in her blood. It’s made a huge difference: Stella is eating! After months and years of trying to get her to eat while her wait continuously dropped, she’s on the upswing. She has…
Poor Shadow. Shelley dropped Shadow off on Tuesday so I could take her to the vet’s for her surgery. Shadow wasn’t very happy to be dragged around in a carrier and taken to the vet’s. Considering everything, she was quite well behaved though. She spent part of the morning in the carrier on my kitchen…
One of my kitties, Kiesha, is a long-haired calico. For some time, I’ve thought that she is a Maine Coone cross. However, a friend asked me if she is a Norweigian Forest Cat (a breed I had never heard of). I did some research, and sure enough she looks like a Norwiegian Forest Cat and…
It’s colder weather and Stella is letting me know it. She does not tolerate anything colder than 65 well. She insists upon sleeping under the blankets. First, she sits next to my left ear and waits for me to life the blanket for her. If I don’t move, she puts her mouth about three inches…
Stella is having trouble walking this morning/afternoon. It started just before lunch and lasted almost an hour. I called the vet just before they closed. They said to keep an eye on her and if something happens to take her to the emergency clinic. Otherwise to call them on Tuesday and let them know how…
The vet called this morning with some good news! Basette’s morning glucose was 405 (much lower then the prior day’s 500+), and her lunch-time glucose was 339. She’s edging back towards a normal glucose level finally. The best news was that Basette was up and walking around the clinic. Not just a step or two…

Her time here was long, and she was a lovely companion for a very long time. I know it’s still difficult, even when you knew that the time would come. This has been a very difficult year for you, between Stella and Ambush–know that you’re in my thoughts.
Thank you. Stella was an amazing little kitty who was blessed with a long life and 95% function right up to the end (except for the last 2 days of her life). I was really lucky to have her.
I’ll post about what actually happened after a while. It is just a little too fresh to really write about it yet.
