I have floppy ankles. Most of the time, I’m fine. Other times, I’ll be walking along and my ankle will suddenly give out and flop towards the ground. This lovely “feature” is exacerbated by the fact that when I was 18 I tore all of the ligaments in my right ankle from a riding accident. It’s never fully recovered. <\/p>\n
So, today at work, I was trotting across the cross walk and my right ankle gave out right in front of the curb. I sprawled on the sidewalk, stood up, and hobbled in to my office. (Some very nice people at work also stopped to make sure I was okay.) <\/p>\n
I have officially resprained my ankle. I’m supposed to be off of it as much as possible, ice it regularly, and wear a brace. The doctor didn’t want me riding at all for a good while. Okay, fine, I’ll wear the brace… but I’m going to ride bareback and just be careful when I land. <\/p>\n
