Update on horse at animal shelter

    ByKim (Ceffyl) March 13, 2005

I called the animal shelter this afternoon. The horse is doing okay and is not available for adoption. Apparently horse people came out in force with donations to help care for the horse until he/she is either returned to the owner or sent to the local horse rescue/adoption agency. I’m really glad the horse is…

    Grazing Muzzle -1; Houdini Horse – 0

    ByKim (Ceffyl) March 11, 2005

I checked on Isis tonight. Good news is that apparently her grazing muzzle is staying on okay. The bad news is it’s really pissing her off that she can’t get the muzzle off any more. I got back from vacation and went to the barn to see her before dark. Opened the stall door, and…

A horse found neglected in Briceville on Feb. 24 is being cared for at the Oak Ridge Animal Shelter. The owner was arrested for animal curelty. I’m going to contact the shelter tomorrow and see if there is anything the community can do to help this poor horse. Oak Ridger – Community Related Images:

Chariot find is a victory for Scots

    ByKim (Ceffyl) March 11, 2005December 26, 2007

Interesting that so many of the chariot burials found in the UK have been in Yorkshire (19 total, all of them, except for one found near Edinburgh , according to this article). No pictures in the article, unfortunately. 2400 year old grave. Chariot find is a victory for Scots by Martin Wainwright, Thursday March 10,…

    Online silliness…

    ByKim (Ceffyl) March 10, 2005March 10, 2005

From that last post, you might think I spend a lot of time online. Well, yes. The greater portion of my day is spent connected (i.e., online) in some form: logged in to IM via cell phone or sitting at the computer with Trillian running. Why anyone would want to be online and that easy…

    Amazing Mare

    ByKim (Ceffyl) March 3, 2005

Isis hates needles. She despises spring vaccinations and has let her displeasure be known through body-slamming me into the walls. With her powerful neck set, she pushes me out of the way to move away from that nasty thing poking her. One vet I had tried twitching her with a chain and rope. I was…

    Google weirdness

    ByKim (Ceffyl) February 17, 2005March 10, 2005

This is very strange. Epona.net went from being ranked fourth on Google (keyword search for “epona”) to not even appearing in the listings! Apparently, the algorythms used to calculate page rank have been modified again and lots of people have lost their rankings. Now some pages with more misinformation then concrete information about Epona have…

    The Bane of Easy Keepers

    ByKim (Ceffyl) January 2, 2005August 16, 2012

I’ve always had horses who were easy keepers — only taking them off grass would make them lose weight. Isis was no exception. Metabolism? What’s that? I’ve managed her weight as best I can through nutrition and exercise. It’s not always enough, I can’t get out to the barn as often as I like. The…
