Results of synovial fluid tests for Kasane

My vet called with some good news for Kasane. The synovial fluid test and culture came back today. Preliminary culture results are no growth. Yay! The ultrasound of her joint fluid looked clear with moderate synovial thicking.

This is some of the best news we could have had because it means that there is no bacterial growth and that the joint damage from this whole issue could be minimal.

Apparently, Kasane also liked the water with the molasses in it the best.

She will be home soon, too. Best. News. Ever.

I’ve been out to see her several times. Every time she perks up and yells at me. I always hate leaving her there. It’s been getting chilly so I brought her blanket out as well.

It’s been a while since I wrote about Kasane’s progress on the Great Path Towards Riding. She’s learned quite a bit this winter: left/right/whoa/back while ground driving, bits aren’t nasty when given with treats, and dressage saddles aren’t scary. All of the exercises Kasane and I do build towards riding. Voice commands when lunging teach…

  • Vet Checkup

Monday morning vet check went well. Isis’ incision is healing well. Overall, she looks good except for her weight. When the vet examined her belly, Isis stretched out her neck and wiggled her nose. Silly girl wasn’t sore, she was itchy! Related Images:
