Miss B is home

Breezy was happy to see us today, but not so happy to get on the trailer (took some convincing that we were going home). Her welcoming party was very relieved to see her and get her discharge papers from the hospital.

The vets removed one bone chip. Breezy had three small incisions where the surgery was done. She shouldn’t have this issue again, thankfully. The standing wrap on her front left leg is impressive: multiple layers of cotton batting, vet wrap, and Elasticon (super sticky bandage wrap) at the top and bottom. We’ll have to change the wrap daily.

Breezy will be on stall rest for at least a month, possibly two. I’ve made arrangements so she’ll have multiple people taking her out to graze during the day. I bought a bunch of wrapping supplies, so we’re set as far as her bandaging needs go.

Isis has been steadily recovering from her fall in the spring. We both have been. My knee and ankle are doing better. She is losing weight and back in regular workouts. Isis had her feet done tonight. We’re trying a new experiment — Easy Walkers on the front and aluminum Eventer shoes on the back. She has never had metal shoes on her back feet. It will be interesting to see how her feet respond to the different shoes. Related Images:
