I was about 90% better from the last cold that went around the office. I felt fine, I just had a cough that sounded bad. Even that had diminished and was almost gone. And then I caught flavor two of the creeping crud that permeates my office.

People have been out with crud off and on since before Christmas (for some, it’s been as long as Thanksgiving). Every five to ten minutes, I can hear three to four people cough. I don’t know what is going around, but the antibiotics my coworkers have been prescribed haven’t touched this creeping crud. Several of them have been told to just wait it out and that there isn’t much that can be done to help.

Nope, I haven’t been to the doctor precisely because of what my coworkers have been told. I’ve been letting the cold fade — which it was, until Friday, when I caught flavor two. Now I’m back to coughing, stuffy nose, drippage, and all that fun stuff.

Several of us have suggested that everyone should work from home for a week or so to let the creeping crud pass over. A kind of voluntary quaranteen. I think it’s a great idea.
