Pain in the neck

Shortly before I left work, my neck started hurting and my back felt stiff. I woke up at approximately 2:00 with a very stiff neck. I could not turn my head to the right without catching my breath. It felt rather like someone was poking a three inch, 18 gauge needle into my vertebrae on the right side of my neck. Not fun.

I called my Mom because I knew she would be up and also because she has had similar things in the past. In her case, it was a pinched nerve that required a type of soft neck brace. She suggested I consider going to the emergency room. I really don’t want to do that. It would be very expensive and if I can just get through to the morning, I can go to the doctor’s office. I can’t drive right now any way. (Yeah, I know, taxis, but I’d rather not go out.)

Ibuprofen, straight-back sleeping, proper support and all that fun stuff… Here’s hoping that it helps.

Wow. So it’s been a while since I last posted. I’ve managed to land (mostly) on my feet. I went from being unemployed to being over-employed, but in a good way. My old freelance contacts paid off in the best possible way: I was given enough work to get me through until I located a…

  • New refrigerator

The lovely new refrigerator is here! It makes such a huge difference in how the kitchen looks. The house is so much quieter too, without the rattle of the other machine’s motor. It will be interesting to see what happens to the electric bill now. Related Images:
