My stepfather is in town helping me fix up some things on the house. So far, we’ve installed a deadbolt in the back door and have attempted to fix the side door lock (talk about a messy door). The doorknob and lock is an antique mortise lock made by Yale. Surprisingly, Yale still makes mortise locks and has one that looks like it would fit! We’re going to see if we can find one at Home Depot or Lowes tomorrow.
He has replaced a light switch on the porch so now the lights in the sun room are working again. Tomorrow we’re going to spend some time getting the smoke detectors up and hopefully figuring out a way to correct the door locks for the sun room door.
I’ve been really blessed to have him here this weekend.
