Car go crunch

Last week on Wednesday, I was taking the back way home to avoid accidents on the interstate and ended up in an accident myself. A silver SUV turned left from oncoming traffic across my lane on 54. Major intersection. Lots of traffic. One minute my lane was clear, and the next there was a car in front of me.

Car go crunch and snicker-snack. The hood was crumpled, like it is designed to do. Emergency personnel were on the scene within minutes. I was taken to the Duke Hospital ER and had X-rays and a CT scan to check for fractures in my neck. Luckily, everything was clear. I had a neck sprain and some bumps and bruises. Two of my friends sat with me at the hospital and then brought me home.

Neck braces are uncomfortable things. The orthopedic doctor cleared me yesterday to not wear the brace any more. (Yay!) So I’m all good. It will take 3-4 weeks for everything to finish healing and calm down but for the most part I’m okay.

I have a rental car and the guy’s insurance company is covering my medical bills, car rental, and offering a reasonable sum for my car.

I was very lucky to be able to walk away from this accident.

Mimosa trees won’t stay dead. Deck Project 1, Mimosa 0 Last summer, I had my deck rebuilt. The home inspector had flagged the deck as a “needs to be repaired or replaced, seek professional help” type of project. The boards were rotting. Nails poking up and the joists were soft. The tree cutters removed the…

So far everything has been going well. I am not going to do any workouts tonight like I normally would. I’ve practised the choreography a few times, reviewed the steps and the music. I feel comfortable with everything. Here’s hoping tomorrow goes well! Related Images:
