It never fails. I had a lesson scheduled for Saturday and was all excited about getting back into the groove with the Amazing Miss B.
Except Breezy isn’t quite moving right on her back right. When she trots, she’s short-strided especially when being lunged to the right. She has a noticeable head-toss when she lunges as well.
It’s hard to figure out exactly what is going on. The chiropractor checked her last week and she seemed all good. She also had bodywork the day after the chiropractor visited and she was in very good shape. She had almost two weeks off while I was in Austria and additional time off because of weather conditions.
Lunging showed the difference
When we started lunging in the big ring, the barn owner swapped the paddocks for the thoroughbreds. They were so happy and galloped around for like 20 minutes. Miss B was immediately up and we worked to get her to quiet down. She was eventually focused on me and we got some work done — BUT no idea if she tweaked something while she was all up or if she did something in the field.
It doesn’t appear to be something in her leg. No swelling, no heat, nothing. She’s definitely owie about something though.
The chiropractor is due back out on Saturday for another horse. I’ll have her rechecked just to make sure.
