I just read a review on io9 of Season of the Witch. It looks so cheesy. SO cheesy as to be good in a bad way.
I could not resist. Nic Cage and Ron Perlman in a campy movie that has scenes with hommages to Monty Python? I am so there. 🙂
Just an update on the roof situation and the water in the crawl space. The HOA did indeed send a very nice man from Ark Roofing over to look at the roof. It was fixed today (before we get more rain tomorrow). That was a relief. I’ve also been pulling water out of the crawl…
Some of my friends and I are learning Latin. It’s been a great challenge and a lot of fun, too. It’s amazing who you discover knows Latin… The programmer in the cube next to mine used to teach Latin. A friend of mine in Hillsborough has a Masters in philology. Other friends are Classics majors….
The party was fun. I got to see a bunch of people I haven’t seen I a few months. You know when most of your friends have kids because they think 9:00 PM is late. Overall, a nice stress free evening at the party. Because I was at this party, I had to skip my…
My Mom’s lovely mare Kenya came up lame today. (Kenya is Kasane’s sister by the same sire.) Kenya’s back right leg was slightly swollen above the fetlock. We had the vet out and it turns out Kenya had an abscess. It cleared up shortly after about a week of bandaging… but she’s all better now….

Season of the Witch WAS cheesy, as per most Nic Cage movies. The Rite looks a little more interesting and at least has Sir Anthony Hopkins to lend it some class!
Season of the Witch wasn’t too bad. It was some where in between cheesy and trying to take itself seriously. Kept feeling like Ron Perlman was trying to get Nic Cage to lighten up. Ron Perlman made an awesome knight.
Not even going to touch the “historical accuracy” of the movie. It took place in a fantasy realm as far as I’m concerned.
The Rite looks very interesting. You know it will have some good acting with Sir Anthony in there. 🙂
I don’t WANT a new Dr. Who! David come back!
Matt Smith eventually grows on you, but he doesn’t have David Tennant’s power/presence. Did you see DT in Hamlet or Cassanova? Nom.
