Strange days

It has been only a few days since Basette was put to sleep. I left for travel that same day.

How do you prepare to walk into your home and not be greeted by a furry little friend? How do you know for the emotional shock of seeing remnants of your pet’s life — but no pet?

Friday it will hit me, and probaby quite hard. Basette was a constant companion for 14 years.

If something takes longer than five minutes, she will start protesting vigorously. The fluids have made a huge difference for her: the evening after she has her fluids, she plays…

  • Cat Battles

It’s funny how much you miss cats purring in the morning until you don’t have both of them in the room with you. Brie Brie, my Maine Coon cross kitty, was downstairs staring out the sliding glass doors when the neighbor’s cat walked up and sat about a foot from the door. Brie Brie didn’t…
