Stella recovers her spunk

I have been sitting at work all day worrying about Stella. She seemed so small this morning and last night, like she didn’t feel good and didn’t want to be here any more. I called the vet and made an appointment for fluids because that usually helps her.

I also had The Conversation with the vet about knowing when it’s time to let your kitty go. I was very upset but pushed through it. Decided there was nothing I could do until I got home and saw how Stella was.

I got home to take Stella to the vet and she immediately woke up when I touched her tail. (Improvement #1!)

She pushed her head into my hand and rubbed all over my hand. She purred and pushed her head against me and wanted pettings pettings pettings now now now. (Improvement #2!) She played with a sock I trailed across the bet and then batted at me to pet her some more. Little kitty recovered her spunk 🙂

It’s not time yet, she’s saying (to a very relieved me). At some point soon it will be, but not today.

Stella finally seems to be doing better. After two courses of trying to give her Clavamox antibiotic twice per day (and her successfully avoiding it 25% of the time), the vet gave her an injectible antibiotic that lasts for two weeks. The dose is determined by the cat’s weight, so it has the potential to…

Some good news, and some bad news. Good news: Basette’s insulin dose is having some effects and appears to be helping her. She is feeling better and has been up and around more. Bad news: She has lost more of her vision. This morning I sat and watched her before going in to work. For…

  • Murmurs of Ambush

I picked up Ambush from the vet this evening. He stayed in the kennel while I was in Tennessee. Poor kitty doesn’t do well in new surroundings, and this was a new vet office. (The lady at the counter said that Ambush didn’t like her. He would not let her pet him. He’s like that…
