Last summer, a momma cat had four kittens in my back yard. One little black kitty in particular caught my attention. Little brave kitty who would watch me longer than his siblings.
The kitties have ended up living at a neighbor’s house. Momma kitty and all of the kittens are now fixed. The little black kitty I liked so much has disappeared.
For the past two weeks, Ambush has been on one unit of Vetsulin twice per day. It hasn’t really seemed to do that much to help him. He is drinking a lot of water and urinating a lot. I’m going through one 14-pound jug of clumping cat litter a week. He also seems to be…
I took today off to take Ambush in to the vet’s. Excellent news! The vet was doing the happy dance. =) His glucose level remains within reasonable levels (189) even after one week of being off of insulin. She said to bring him back in for a checkup every two weeks. If he stays at…
For once, mostly having fun by riding and working the girls. My main concern has been that Isis has been in the middle of an insulin resistance episode. We have been careful about her diet, so the next item was to up her exercise. All of the girls are getting worked more. I’ve mostly focused…
Basette is back from the vet’s and has had her teeth cleaned. Apparently, they were really nasty. Not surprising, considering she has never had her teeth cleaned (bad Mommy!). I actually never knew cats were supposed to have regular dental cleanings until recently. Basette grew up as a vicious mouser in the barn. She lost…
Stella is now the smallest she has ever been: 3 pounds, 13.5 ounces. This Friday we’re going to recheck her phosphorous levels and make sure her meds are at the right dose. Poor little kitten. She is in good spirits and she has been playful. She seems okay, she just didn’t want to eat much…
Today started with a vet visit with Stella for her fluids. She has been so good about it. Surprising, considering that she has limited patience. If something takes longer than five minutes, she will start protesting vigorously. The fluids have made a huge difference for her: the evening after she has her fluids, she plays…
