Finally some progress with Stella

Stella hates the wet food from the vet (NF kidney prescription diet). Ambush (aka “the Vacuum”) won’t eat it. Stella still didn’t like the Merrick’s Turduken or Granny’s Pot Pie wet food, which both smell marvelous. Ambush and Kiesha were in love with these flavors. Stella couldn’t care less.

The good news? Stella likes one dry food I found: Blue Buffalo Spa Selects. It’s a Lite formula, which she doesn’t need, but the food is 28% protein and she eats it. I’m going to keep trying different wet foods, but at least there is something she is eating.

I’ve put Ambush back on Innova EVO and he seems quite happy with that. He doesn’t eat Stella’s dry food (miracles do happen!). Stella doesn’t appear to be eating the EVO either. Who would have thought they wouldn’t like each other’s food?

    Catching up

A lot has happened in the past few weeks. I’ll write some posts to catch up. Here’s the brief list: New horse: Kasane is the primary reason why I have not been posting much on here. I’ll write a long post about here with pictures. Stella: She has been fighting a urinary tract infection and…

  • Getting Stella to eat

Getting Stella to eat is not an easy task. This weekend she didn’t want to eat much of anything. I’m not sure what to do. She is drinking well, but she doesn’t want to touch the wet kitten food, her Fromm dry food, Ambush’s food, the tuna cat food from Trader Joe’s, or the other…

  • Stella eating more

Finally. Stella had her fluids on Friday and then didn’t eat much… but today she started eating again. (Yay!) A friend of mine at Phydeaux pet store suggested a trial size of Call of the Wild no-grain cat food. Stella’s pickiness has rubbed off on Ambush. For the first time ever, Ambush is refusing to…

  • Sad news…

The kitty I posted about the other day did not make it. Her kidneys failed quickly. She only lasted a few days after my post. A silent prayer to ease the kitty’s journey, and to make her mom realize how blessed she was to have such a special feline in her life. Related Images:

  • Reactions to declawing

After Kiesha died, I adopted BrieBrie and Phaedra fron Cat Angels rescue.  The two kitties have had their challenges, but for the most part they are very sweet. When I adopted them, I signed a contract stating I would never let them be out door cats or have them declawed. Last night, I started watching…

  1. help. we just got our newly diagnosed kitty home and the vet’s office said she ate at all four types of food. now we can’t get her to eat one. how do you feed the sick cat one food and keep the others out of it?

  2. Hi there.

Do you have a way to segregate the kitties to keep the sick kitty’s food some place where the other kitties can’t get it? Are you feeding wet food or dry food?

How many cats do you have and how many foods do you have to feed?

In my case, during the day, Stella is in a bathroom by herself so she can eat all day. She grazes: she takes a few licks of her food every once in a while. She will (some times) finish her wet food during the day. What she doesn’t finish, Ambush eats.
