Boogie Down, Bay Mare!

Man, talk about an up-and-down week! About 1:30 AM Tuesday morning, Isis colicked. Very mild, from what they said. She basically went down, got back up, had a slightly elevated heart rate and that was it. She was given some mineral oil. During the day, she passed the mineral oil and had a very good appetite.

I saw Isis yesterday evening after work. Her vet student had taken her out to graze and was delighted with how well Isis was doing. Except that Isis had apparently scrapped her leg. The stalls at the vet school are rubberized: rubber mats on the floor and a special paint on the walls. Now I can honestly say that Isis will hurt herself even in a rubber room. That’s my girl.

So the good news? She is coming home tonight or tomorrow! Wheee!

Isis hates needles. She despises spring vaccinations and has let her displeasure be known through body-slamming me into the walls. Isis had her first chiropractic adjustment tonight after several months without one.
