Of course right when I need to get Kiesha to the vet we have the first snow of the year and everything is closed down. Sigh. I’m just glad that my office lets me work from home when necessary. Not a lot of snow here. Just enough to make the roads slippery and hard to get out. It’s amazing how two inches of snow can shut everything down around here. Related Images:

Kiesha and the lumpy bump
Kiesha has had hyperthyroid problems for the past several years. She developed a lump on her thyroid under her chin a while back. The vet said most likely it was benign and not unheard of in a cat with hyperthyroid issues. She’s on a half tablet of methimazole twice per day. Not specifically rain rot, it’s more like the creeping fungus infection that the horses get on their feet when it’s been rainy and muddy. Rajiyyah has it pretty bad on her legs. I’ve been updating the fixtures in the house from brass and fake-looking gold plastic to oil rubbed bronze. I’ve changed out all of the door knobs and removed the towel rods from the walls, especially in the downstairs bathroom. I also replaced the light fixture to match the ones in the upstairs bathroom. I added a hand towel holder in the downstairs bathroom and patched the walls where the 30 inch towel rod...
