Visit with the Love Lobster

Ever add new things to your office or cube just to see if people would notice? Or might be brave enough to say something? I do that some times—especially when I’m trying to get to know people. It’s a great way to meet people. And if they think I’m a little weird, well I am. Hm… Maybe I should say eccentric? Since I started my new job in January, I’ve been adding things...

Another house showing…

The house is being shown this Saturday at noon. Which I is good news. The house has never had this much interest. Pretty amazing. I wonder if my real estate agent ran an ad? It’s kinda frustrating when you don’t know what work you should do and what you should not. I know what I would like to do, but then there is the question of what is cost-effective and what is not?...

Feedback on House

Here is the feedback my real estate agent just gave me for the people who viewed the house: The people who saw the house last night didn’t understand the floor plan. (Yeah she was kinda scratching her head over that one too.) The people who saw the house on the 5th said that every room needs finishing touches and is lacking completion. They also thought the price was too high. The people who...

More good house news

I got another email from my real estate agent. The house is being shown again today. Cool beans! This is amazing. I don’t think there has ever been this much traffic on the house. Back to work. Had to share. 🙂 Related Images:

Kitty Welfare in Scotland

The Register today has an article called “Scottish government drafts cat welfare code,” which details a Scottish government document describing basic cat care and cat welfare. From the article: The Scottish government has tackled the thorny issue of cat welfare by issuing a Draft Cat Welfare Code of Practice aimed at providing “basic information and guidance to those responsible for cats on how to care for them”. This exhaustive document contains essential info...

Another house showing!

And yet another house showing today! Woohoo! My real estate agent also said that the house was shown over the weekend, so that is three showings this weekend. Awesome! Bouncy bouncy! Now if it will just sell… Related Images:

House is being shown today!

I got an email from my real estate agent. The house is being shown right now. Woohoo! Here’s hoping that the people like it and make an offer… The market has been so slow right now, but that’s okay. I am blessed with family close to where I work so I don’t have to pay mortgage and rent and double utilities. Related Images:

Microsoft, Google, and Yahoo, oh my!

How is it possible that the biggest software company wants to gobble up one of the larges Internet companies? Last week on Friday, Microsoft made a hostile takeover bid for Yahoo. Since Friday, Google has taken an interest in Yahoo. So what is worse? Yahoo engulfed in Microsoft, or Google/Yahoo consortium? Related Images:

Check Your Bank Statements!

I was doing my budget last night and discovered a cash withdrawl of over $200 made after I moved to North Carolina. I’m waiting on a call back from my bank. Nervewracking. Glad I check my statements. Update: Okay, well the bank situation turned out to be okay. The $250 transaction was where I had made a payment to my Visa card from my checking account. The bank hadn’t placed a notice in...

Ambush Update, Part the Third

I called the NC vet back last night to find out how severe Ambush’ murmur is. On a scale of 1-6, with six being the worst, she rates Ambush’s a five. Que scepticism. If it was a quiet murmur, I could understand maybe my vet in TN missing the murmur. But how do you miss something that is supposedly as loud as his would have to be to qualify as a 5/6? I...

Presidential Debates

Seems like everyone on this side of the pond are watching the presendential debates. Last night, Hilleary Clinton and Barack Obama squared off in their first two-person debate. (Senator John Edwards bowed out of the race earlier this week without endorsing either remaining Democratic candidates.) I’m leery about the entire process presidential nomination and electrorial process. Honestly, I think most of it is a sham to placate the masses. Maybe our votes count...

Update on Ambush

I called my vet in Tennessee for a second opinion on the way in to work this morning. She said it is possible that another vet could hear a murmur that she missed. She also suggested getting a second opinion: 80% of the cats she diagnoses with murmurs really don’t require much treatment because it isn’t affecting the cats. She usually suggests to the owners that they go to UT vet hospital to...

Blood Ties Scripts

The script supervisor from Blood Ties is selling her scripts on eBay. If you want a piece of an incredible TV series, here is the chance. Kinda sad seeing these scripts on eBay. Reading the item description is depressing–especially if you have been wanting a second season. Related Images:

Murmurs of Ambush

I picked up Ambush from the vet this evening. He stayed in the kennel while I was in Tennessee. Poor kitty doesn’t do well in new surroundings, and this was a new vet office. (The lady at the counter said that Ambush didn’t like her. He would not let her pet him. He’s like that at places where he isn’t comfortable.) Before Ambush was brought out, I was asked if I knew he...
